Sardinian wine "Tuvaoes" is a Vermentino from Sardinia that, for over 30 years, has been one of the reference points of the type, a must for those who want to know the best expressions of the white grape variety par excellence of Sardinia. It is a bottle where strength and freshness derive from a nice acidic backbone, while the aromas highlight a varied bouquet, rich in notes and elegant nuances. A great label signed by Cherchi that, among its many merits, also has the one of presenting itself at a decidedly affordable price. Absolutely worth trying!
This Vermentino from Sardinia "Tuvaoes" is made by the Cherchi winery starting from pure Vermentino grapes. The plants of this variety grow in vineyards located at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level, sinking their roots into the hilly soils near Usini, characterized by a calcareous and clayey subsoil. The bunches, carefully selected during the harvest period, are destemmed, crushed, and gently pressed, and then undergo alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, where they remain to refine for a 7 kuukauden ajaksi.
"Tuvaoes" by Cherchi is a Vermentino from Sardinia that, to the eye, announces itself with a bright and concentrated straw yellow color. The nose is teeming with layered and complex aromas, which shift from fruity to mineral, also telling some more vegetal notes and of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied, tense, and dynamic, with a sip characterized by a pleasant freshness and a good sapidity; it finishes with a persistent aftertaste. An important label that has won prestigious national awards and thus rightfully belongs among the great wines not only of Sardinian enology but even of Italian enology.
